Lori-Ann Tierney

Meet the owner

Lori-Ann Tierney has been dancing since she was 7. She was a member of both dance and gymnastics competitive teams and performed throughout the eastern seaboard. She taught dance and gymnastics as well as led her own dance companies to many championships. Lori-Ann graduated from University of MA Amherst with her bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science, along with Animal Science. From there, graduate studies took her to Salt Lake City, Utah, where she completed her studies and master’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Utah. During graduate school, Lori-Ann continued her teaching career which included competitive dance companies and many title accolades. She also had a unique opportunity to be a part of the choreography for the 2002 Olympics opening ceremonies events and venues.

She then moved to Coeur d’Alene, ID where she continues to work as a physical therapist and continues her dance teaching career for the past 20 years. Lori-Ann and her husband Doug have 5 (soon to be 6) beautiful children, and reside in Dalton Gardens, where farming local produce is an integral part of daily life. In 2021, Lori-Ann graduated with her Doctorate in physical therapy along with her Rehab Administration Certificate from the University of Montana, and now is excited to continue her dance teaching career as the proud owner of La Danse.

Lori-Ann’s vision for La Danse is to provide sound technical foundation in a non-competitive setting, where each dancer's positive self-esteem is fostered. Lori-Ann and La Danse faculty is grateful for the opportunity to encourage and nurture each dancer to be their personal best! We look forward to seeing you soon!
